MYP Athletes offer classes in mindfulness. Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us. Athletes will learn the benefits of using breath work and the idea of letting thoughts come and go.
Yoga is where MYP Athletes started and through online classes athletes will be able to practice specialized sequence created for athletes of all levels. Studies have shown that athletes' careers are prolonged and expanded when yoga is added to their training regimen.
Pilates for active recovery is used to instill proper body function and movement. Pilates reinforces the bond between mind and muscle helping athletes engage the right muscles in the core. This leads to better posture and overall control of the body’s movements. Athletes will see improvements in strength, balance core stability and range of motion. MYP Athletes offers online mat pilates for all levels.
